Aside from being low in calories, the diet is also deficient in vitamins and nutrients that are essential for the body to function properly.

This type of sounds promising, especially in terms of its health and body-cleansing benefits. However, you should also not forget the possible downsides brought about by the diet. The Masters Cleanse or lemon detox diet is a great idea for short-term detoxification of the body. However, if your main purpose for the diet is for long-term weight loss, you might want to consider a modified Masters Cleanse diet, or another type of detox diet that involves more than just lemon and maple syrup juice.
